The Silifke Asthma Cave is located in Hasanaliler Street, Narlıkuyu Bay, Silifke District, Mersin Province. It is 600 metres southwest of the Cennet sinkhole. The formation of the cave dates back to the 3rd geological period. The interconnected galleries, measuring 200 metres in length, are adorned with impressive stalactites and stalagmites in a variety of shapes, formed through the accumulation of silica minerals. The humidity is 85% in summer and rises to 95% in winter. It is believed that the air in the cave is good for those suffering from asthma. This cave is also known as the Wishing Cave, because wishes were made by tying fabrics on the branches of the nearby trees.
