The Batman Museum is a significant regional museum with three exhibition halls: Paleolithic-Neolithic, Ilısu, and Hasankeyf. It displays around 500 artifacts from the Paleolithic Period to the Medieval Ages. The museum oversees seven salvage excavations in Batman and Siirt provinces that will be flooded by the Ilısu Dam Reservoir. The museum houses several significant artifacts, including game pieces discovered during the Başur Höyük excavation, stelea from Gusir Höyük, Bronze Funeral Gifts from Başur Höyük, and God Bes from Hasankeyf. Visitors can also watch documentary films about the excavations carried out under the authority of the Batman Museum in the exhibit hall's projector room. The museum boasts a rich library covering topics such as archaeology, culture, and art history. Additionally, there is a laboratory dedicated to restoring artifacts. The Museum Park Project, currently being developed by the Batman Museum Directorate, is one of the first of its kind in Turkey. Visitors have the opportunity to learn about history through the living spaces created within the museum's garden. The Museum Park features models of houses from Gusir and Gre Amer Höyük, depictions of funeral traditions from Başur, Gre Amer, and Kuriki Höyük, game pieces from Başur Höyük, and exhibits on Middle Ages life in Hasankeyf and dramatizations of rural life from the recent past. Additionally, the park includes practical excavation areas to educate students from primary to high school on historical awareness and the process of archaeological excavations. Practical archaeological excavation training is provided to students in the company of specialist archaeologists. The Museum Park has also been enhanced with a short film about archaeological excavations and simulation areas for children. The Museum Park project, the first of its kind in Turkey, aims to serve all local and foreign visitors.
