The Istanbul Airport Museum, which opened on July 17th, 2020, is the largest airport museum in the world, covering an area of 1000m². The museum aims to showcase a new temporary exhibition every year, with the first exhibition being 'Treasures of Turkey: Faces of the Throne'. The objective of the exhibition is to display Anatolian history spanning twelve thousand years through the concept of 'Rule and Ruler'. The museum's opening exhibition serves as a miniature 'Anatolian Civilisations Museum' with over 300 artefacts from the prehistoric, Hittite, Urartu, Phrygian, Lydian, Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk, Ottoman and modern Turkish periods. The exhibition features 316 artefacts from 29 museums, providing visitors with a comprehensive overview of Turkish history spanning thousands of years.
