The edifice, which exemplifies civil architecture reflective of the local characteristics, was constructed in 1858 and has served as the Bafra Museum since 2011. The archaeological exhibition halls of the museum display artefacts belonging to civilisations that inhabited the Bafra region from the Late Chalcolithic Period of the İkiztepe Excavation to the conclusion of the Eastern Roman Period. In the ethnographic halls of the museum, visitors will be able to observe artefacts representative of the recent history of the Bafra region. These include kitchen, living and bedroom arrangements, which have been prepared according to the daily life of the traditional Bafra house. In addition, ethnographic artefacts belonging to Turkish culture of the Ottoman Period are found in the showcases.
