Description

During his second visit to Bursa in January 1923, Atatürk received this building as a gift from the Bursa Municipality, which had purchased it from Marshal Mehmet Bey. Atatürk stayed in this house during his visits to Bursa. After 1938, the mansion was sold by the Municipality of Bursa to the Turkish Pension Fund, and in 1968, the General Directorate of Museums was granted usage rights to the building. On 29 October 1973, the mansion was converted into a museum and opened to visitors. The furniture and artefacts displayed in the mansion are original items used by Ataturk. The Pavilion was influenced by French architectural art of the 19th century, with balconies, pediment eaves, and acroters serving as original examples of woodwork. The house has two storeys, a basement, and an attic. The building features a stone structure with the basement floor designated for kitchen and service areas. The first floor comprises a reception hall to the right of the entrance, a dining hall on the left, and a resting area for tea and coffee. Moving up to the second floor, the bedroom is located on the right, while the study room is on the left. Adjacent to the study room is the glasshouse. The basement floor serves as the kitchen and service areas. A pergola is located in the eastern part of the garden. The interior of the pergola features hand-drawn motifs.
